Aaliyah Dana Haaughton soared to notoriety after she released her debut album Age Ain't Nothing but a Number in 1994. The album came out as Gold in the year she turned 15 years old. This collaboration was heavily in the style of R. Kelly, and helped put her onto the scene. In 1996 she collaborated with Jermaine Dpri and Timbaland for her second studio album One In A Million, which featured the #1 hit track If Your Girl Only knew. Aaliyah was recognized internationally for her work as an R&B artist with the release of her second album One in a Million. In 2000, she appeared in the romantic action movie Romeo Must Die alongside martial artists Jet-Li. Joel Silver spotted her in an award show. Queen of the Damned was her first role in 2002. The story is based on an Anne Rice novel. Then she was introduced to the Matrix with her role as Zee in The Matrix Sequels having also been as a character in The Matrix Reloaded in 2003 as well as The Matrix Revolutions in the same year. She is an Indian-American of her first generation, born in Connecticut. Mann the stage name is an abbreviation for Mankad, her married surname. Aarti is the combination of Aarti as well as Aarti. Majumdar. Her acting career began in the mid 2000's, with a few roles on TV and films. Her other noteworthy works comprise Leverage 2012, Suits 2013, and Grey's Anatomy 2017. In addition, she was a part of several commercials that included Volvo and other major automobile brands. She currently lives with her family in Los Angeles along with her wife, son and daughter. She also pursues her acting profession.
