Holly Hunter is a well-known American actor, producer, and director. She's been honored for her roles in films like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter was awarded numerous prizes, including an Oscar for her film Piano. The path to acting began with Broadway by performing in a range of Broadway and Off Broadway initiatives. From her early years she's been passionate about acting. She portrayed Helen Keller as a fifth-grade pupil in a school performance. In the aftermath of suffering from mumps, she lost her hearing in one ear. But, it did not stop her ambition to work as an actress. While in college, she took classes in theatre and later moved in New York City in pursuit of her dream. Through a random encounter, she found herself in an elevator together with playwright Beth Henley and the two worked together on the Broadway Crimes of the Heart that became Hunter's debut. After that, she moved in Los Angeles and tried to secure film roles. in Swing Shift, she landed the role of a back-up. The actress has appeared in many movies, television shows and films over the course of her professional career. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has also won her the Women in Film Lucy Award.
